Solar Scroll Lanterns
Although I'm a big fan of solar powered lights indoors, the garden variety have usually failed to live up to my expectations. No matter how long they spent in direct sunlight, they just seemed a little bit too dim once darkness fell. Disappointing in general, and any attempts to switch to solar outdoor lighting were inevitably abandoned, blaming Irish weather.

Until now, at least. The Smart Solar Cylinder Lights frosted glass scroll lantern not only lived up expectations, they looked good doing it. The glass body gives off ambient light that will give your garden atmosphere, while the white LED is not only bright enough to suit my tastes, but also power-saving.
 

The good thing is that there's little or no setup involved with these lights. There's no need to put in extra wiring or even invest in batteries for the lights - a major factor in their appeal for me. You can be up and running in under two minutes, and you can reposition them as and when you need to.

They can be easily positioned in flowerbeds or on lawns with an included stand, and they look particularly good if you have a few dotted around the garden. If you’d prefer a more prominent placing, the base is stable enough for them to sit comfortably on a garden table or decked area without toppling.

And operating them is just as easy as installing them. There's an on/off switch under the solar panel. Once you have done the first proper charge recommended by the instructions, you can simply set the switch to 'on' and let the sensor do its work. When the light fades, the la
